It is the obligation of the postal authorities to compensate for delivery delay, item lost, content damaged or partly missing unless they are caused by the customers. Posts will not compensate for the indirect and the consequential losses.
Compensation will not be applied to such circumstances as below:
1Service failures caused by force majeure (insured items excluded)
2Confiscation of prohibited or restricted goods by government organizations according to law.
3Items already delivered with intact rapping and delivery procedures fulfilled in accordance with regulations
4Delay, damage or loss due to the error of customers or the nature of the contents
5Compensation claimed out of the period of validity and during which inquiries had not been requested.
6The items were detained, sequestrated or destroyed by country of destination in the light of their law.
Compensation Criteria:
Compensation for domestic EMS items:
1The principal is paid for loss or totally destroyed item under insurance. In the case of content damaged or partly missing, the compensation is the value of the loss with the insured value as the maximum.
2Should the value of the insured item exceeds the maximum risk set by China Post, in the case of content damaged or partly missing the principal is paid if the value of the loss is equal to or above the insured value.
3The customers will be paid the value of the loss as compensation for uninsured item with twice the postage paid as the maximum in the case of item lost, content damaged or missing.
4Postage except for insurance fee is refunded in the case of item lost or totally destroyed.
5Postage is refunded in the case of delivery delay according to the end-to-end time limit proclaimed by China Post unless the delay is caused by the customer.
Compensation for international items and items for Hong Kong and Macao:
1Delivery delay: 50% of postage paid
2Lost or destroyed item of document category: 400 yuan RMB per piece
3Lost or destroyed item of parcel category without declared value: 400 yuan RMB per piece
4Lost or destroyed item of parcel category with declared value: declared value with 500+60*W (weight presented in kilogram) yuan RMB per piece as the maximum
5Postage and special tracking fee are refunded in the case of item lost or totally destroyed.
Time limit of Compensation
Compensation as well as the refund of postage will be paid in a week after the confirmation of service failure
