By using this service, the postage is not paid by the sender but by the addressee. There are 4 ways of paying, including sending mails at different locations while paying charges on a concentrated basis, sending mails at dfferent locations while paying charges on a concentrated basis by the third role, sending mails at different locations while paying charges also at different locations, sending mails at concentrated locations while paying charges on a different basis. Only the first two ways are available for domestic EMS at present.
The first way of paying is specially designed for big clients, whose EMS items are collected from different locations while paying charges on a concentrated basis. A number of companies or manufacturers have their branches, repair stations in many cities around the country. The repair of the defected products and the providing of accessories for their widely dispersed customers bring them a lot of trouble due to the complicated settlement procedures of the postage invoiced, which directly influence their sale and quality of after-sale service. This service of EMS has been introduced just to meet requirements of those clients.
The second way of paying just provides a special service for big clients, who serve as the third role to pay for the charges occurring between the mail sender and receiver. It is one kind of domestic Paid-by-addressee Express Mail Service.
From Oct.10th, 1998, Shell China Ltd. became the first user of the Domestic PBA EMS service (Centralized). Nokia Company began to enjoy the Domestic PBA EMS service (Paid-by-third) from Sep.15th, 2000.
